Seminar on natural construction techniques

A seminar on natural construction techniques was held on 6-8/11/15 and 13-15/11/15, implemented as part of the construction of a small oval building (building B), which is located near after the entrance of the park. It has a timber frame, stone foundations and upper mud walls of wattle and daub according to the “cob” technique. The roof is covered with reeds and the floor is made of small rounded pebbles. The participants were taught about the natural construction techniques and participated in the construction of the building (preparation of the reeds to cover the ceiling, construction of mud walls and laying the pebbled floor).

The inspiration of the structure was a single-space house excavated on the foothills of Platamonas Castle, dated at 8th century B.C.
