In the context of “The Green Cultural Routes”, a communicative nationwide action organised by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, an educational programme titled ‘Pottery: Art from soil and water’ was held on 27 & 28 May 2016.
Archaeological walk to acropolis of Leivithra
The programme is included in the permanent educational actions of the Leivithra park (registrations required). On 28 May, the above programme was incorporated in a colloquium held by the East Olympus Environmental Education Centre (KPE), in cooperation with our Service, for primary and secondary education teachers, and included:
Lecture on the archaeological site of Leivithra
Lecture on environmental education and archaeological monuments
Construction of a handmade lamp using the sphere technique
Handmade lamps made by participants
Presentation of the pottery-making technique using a ceramic wheel by the potter I. Stagidis
